INTRODUCTION
Anyone in the church with a need to teach should gain from this study. This book will help you to become a strong Bible teacher. You should notice that two points are stressed throughout the study.
First, prayer. A powerful Bible teacher prays for the Holy Spirit to work in his life and in the life of his students. This only happens when someone prays.
Second, students obey the Bible. To teach knowledge about the Bible is not enough. The sign of a powerful Bible teacher is a student who obeys the Bible. This course will give you valuable direction on how to teach students to obey.

TEACH THE BIBLE

Planting the Seed
After preparing the soil, the farmer plants the seed. The teacher also plants seed. Jesus told us what the seed is. Read Luke 8:5 and 11. Another example of good Bible teaching is in Nehemiah 8:2, 7-8.

To do this we will study three ways to help students understand.
1. Help students understand the words.
2. Help students understand the teaching.

HELP STUDENTS OBEY THE BIBLE

It is not enough just to know or even believe. Read James 2:18-20. In these verses, does James say it is enough for a Christian just to believe? What does James call the man who does not obey God’s Word?

We will learn three ways to help students obey.
1. Help students plan ways to obey.
2. Help students practice or try obeying.
3. Pray for each student every day.

LEARNING AIMS

One day a young monkey decided to go on a trip. He did not know where he was going but he started early in the morning. He jumped through the trees until he got very tired. Then he met Mr. Bull. Mr. Bull asks, “Where are you going young monkey? The young monkey replied I don't know, but I am very tired. Mr. Bull said, “Get on my back and I’ll carry you.” The young monkey traveled slowly on Mr. Bull’s back. Along came a great eagle. Mrs. Eagle asked, “Young monkey where are you going?” The young monkey answered, “I don’t know but I am surely going slowly.” Mrs. Eagle said, “Well let me pick you up and we will go very fast.” The young monkey said, “That would be good.” So Mrs. Eagle picked up the young monkey and flew very fast back to her nest. Mrs. Eagle and the children were very happy to see the young monkey. They ate him for dinner.

From this story maybe you see something important. If you do not know where you are going, you will surely arrive where you do not want to go.

GETTING READY TO TEACH

It is not easy to be a powerful Bible teacher. If you have the gift of teaching, you need to use it. Do not be like Jonah and try to run away from what God wants you to do.
